Our History

The leadership of the Just For Licks Foundation have been involved in animal rescue, animal fostering, animal adoption, and animal fundraising efforts nationwide going back to 1993.   The concept behind Just for Licks is to distinguish ourselves as an organization by focusing on specific scenarios:

1.  An older animal is not able to be taken care of by an individual due to the enhance care required or the costs are sky-rocketing and the owner wants to ensure the animal is not put to sleep in a high-kill shelter rather they can live out the rest of their life amongst loving professionals.  A charity through tax deductible donations is able to afford these costs which typically increase for older animals to provide them medical care, food, etc.

2.  An animal of any age is in the care of a senior citizen, disabled person, etc. but that person is unable to care for the animal any longer or the family is unable to care for the animal and they want to entrust the animal they have loved for many years could live at the organization's animal sanctuary and not be placed at a high-kill shelter or given to a total stranger that has no experience or no access to the veterinary partners our organization has.

3.  Assisting in the adoption and/or training of emotional support animals for disabled individuals, veterans of our great country, etc.

4.  Through the efforts at our sanctuary we can offer those with special needs who respond to interactions with animals the ability to safely interact with the animals and let the animals receive love and enjoyment of human interaction as well.

We can accept donations from Corporations, Patrons, Celebrities, Individuals, etc. which are very much needed.

Animals Are Our Mission

Since our official launch in early September 2021, we have rescued over 23 Cats and dozens of Dogs.  We focus on making the maximum positive effect. Our donors and volunteers provide the momentum we need.

As a result, in September 2024 we will move into a new five (5) acre facility that was previously used as an interaction site with animals for children with special needs and provides us unlimited space to grow and receive even more animals.  This will help us to propel even more our objectives to establishing a sanctuary for senior dog and cats.  These senior animals often need special care, special exercise, and with this additional space we can provide that and a huge space to run and play.

This facility can be used for assisting in being a conduit for spaying and neuter animals as well through our veterinary partners.

For animals that are owner surrendered by the owners, family of the elder or a deceased individual, we are happy to provide periodic updates, pictures, etc. once the animal is settled, etc.

Our leadership loves animals so much we boast that we have in excess of 300 toys so the animals are never bored.

Our Intake Process is fairly simple which involves:  1) an Owner Surrender Form, 2) Complete Medical History, and 3) Copies of any prior Pet Insurance (if had), 4) any existing toys, beds, etc. that the animal is used to which can help them adjust to a new environment, and 5) any existing prescriptions or dietary need foods that may exist.

We greatly depend on donations as a single senior animal for the remainder of their life between food, medical care, etc. can be in the thousands of dollars.  Any donations we will provide a receipt that you can use to give to your accountant.

See our Contact Section for more information, surrender form, etc.

SERVICE ANIMAL TRAINING

About Just For Licks Foundation Service Animal

Training

The Just For Licks Foundation is a compassionate, science-based organization dedicated to transforming lives through the healing bond between humans and animals. Our mission is to empower individuals living with disabilities by providing them with professionally trained service animals tailored to their specific medical and psychological needs.

Where Compassion Meets Science

Under the leadership of Dr. Steven Krywinski, Ph.D. in Psychology, our foundation has developed an innovative program that integrates psychology, behavioral science, and medical collaboration.
Working closely with licensed medical specialists, Dr. Krywinski designs customized training programs for each case — ensuring that every service animal is prepared not just to assist, but to truly understand and respond to the unique challenges of its handler.

No two disabilities are the same — and neither is our approach. Every training plan is personalized, considering emotional, physical, and environmental factors to create a bond that supports both functional independence and emotional well-being.

A Tailored Path to Healing

Whether an individual is recovering from trauma, coping with PTSD, managing mobility limitations, or facing complex psychological conditions, the Just For Licks Foundation provides a path toward renewed confidence and stability. Each service animal becomes a loyal partner, capable of providing daily assistance, comfort, and a sense of safety that goes beyond words.

Our Vision

We believe that healing comes in many forms — and sometimes, it comes on four paws.
Through compassion, innovation, and partnership with the medical community, the Just For Licks Foundation continues to redefine what service animal training means — creating opportunities for independence, dignity, and hope in every life we touch.

In the year 2024 we introduced our Service Animal Training.

Just for Licks Foundation was officially authorized as

a 501c3 Organization in September of 2021.

Just for Licks Foundation has been in the works, since 2017. We aim to be what we had planned to be as a philanthropic group: a complete focus in animal welfare, by helping the owners of pets and animals in need, a rescue, to foster, adopt, spay and neuter, amongst others.

What excites us the most is the creation of a senior dog sanctuary. We cannot allow for our canine and feline family members to end up in the shelter or abandoned.

Mostly we wish to be the ones that pamper and provide the love they need until they tell us it's their time. However in the meantime provide them the security and empathy they deserve.

We would love for you to join us in honoring our best friends, our angels, our pets.

And remember DOG has the same letters as GOD.

SUPPORT WITH AN OPEN AND A KIND HEART.

We currently are fundraising to acquire the location that will become our sanctuary.

Corporations, patrons, government entities and foundations, we look forward to talk to you and make this a reality, which is very much needed.
